Today I went dining table shopping with SB. We have breakfast at mamak restaurant because he was hungry. After roti canai and milo, we headed to the furniture shops nearby. Alas! none is open yet. We were too early at 10.30am. It seems that most furniture shops near my place only open at noon. They only open early on weekends. Hmm...I guess most people living at my area are working community yea...
On the way back, we found another furniture shops and they are open. We went into the first one and somehow my gut feeling tells me I'm going to get what I want here. We browsed through the catelogue for wooden table for 4. My apartment will be just nice for table for 4. SB show a similar one like his home and he recommended me.
Well, what'd you know, it's nice. Simple and retro. Fit my apartment concept. I never like the curvy type or anything that require a lot of detail cleaning. I rather spend my time reading and going through all the detail house cleaning. And I can't stand dust. The one we both like is square table and matching chairs with white sofa cost RM850.
At the same time, I found a simple single guest bed that I like. Nothing fancy and practical design that cost RM199 and with mattress it cost RM450. The owner through in a pillow so I guess the price is reasonable. Plus, I like both solid wood material. We went to a 2 more shops next to it but the same items were price higher. In the end, we decided to purchase from the first shop.
Finally, I bought my dining set and a bed for my guest room. Now, I still have a dining cabinet, shelf for my storage, closet and a table for my guest room I need to buy next year. That's my 2010 resolution. Oh yea..I bought a new printer too. This is a good week and I spent my bonus wisely.
