Great High Tea at Shangrila Hotel

Ramadan this year started on Saturday so most hotels are quite empty during the Hi-tea period. I had high-tea gathering with a bunch of good friends at Shangrila Hotel and the place was only 50% full. For a customer like myself, I'm happy because I get to eat more food :-) and the place is not so crowded. Lemon Grass restaurant serves one of the best Hi-Tea in town. Everything was great except the Dim Sum. It seems to lost its Yum-yum...

The seafood section is a must try. I took a few rounds of prawns and oysters. Another section I won't missed out is the shusi counter. I took as many fresh salmons as my tummy can fit since I'm already paying RM98++. For those who love cheese like my friend, he tried all the cheese. I love cheese but won't tried every variety because I need to keep my stomach for other food. Cheese tends to make me full easily.

The Asian cuisine looks tempting but I didn't take any because it's the daily dish I can get easily. The pau is not bad but then again, you can't expect it to taste like the Chinese pau. The fountain fondue of chocolate and cheese is the crowd favourite. My favourite is strawberry and mashmallow dip in chocolate fondue.

The service is great, that's the main reason we always gather at Lemon Grass. The waiters are always on the look out for empty plates and will immediately clean it and replace it with a new one. Water is refilled regularly. Since we first started gathering at Lemon Garden, not once did we need to call the waiters to bring a clean plate or refill our drink. Unlike other hotels, we weren't being 'hurry off' when it's 4pm. We were still there chating at 4.30pm while the staff were cleaning up the place. I think they were preparing for the breaking fast. That's what I call good service and good food. I highly recommend anyone to have a try at their hi-tea on the weekend. The price has gone up to RM98++ but it's still worth it.
