Instant noodle for dinner

I just finished eating my dinner. So tired that I decided to cook instant noodle. Thank goodness for this amazing food. Pour hot water in the pot, add noodle and cook in 5 minutes and dinner is ready. Yeah..I didn't even bother to add egg or vege. No more energy. However, I really need to reduce MSG!

For the last 4 weeks, things have been crazy for me. Work, work, work. No life! How to find life when everyday you're loaded with tons of works and has to clean up others s**t! Yet, I don't get the pay I deserved. (yeah...i hear that..you're saying I should be lucky with what I'm getting..)

Yes, you're right. I complaint. What to do...I'm human. Human never satisfied with what they have. The grass is always greener on the other side...hehehe..this month is also a bit lonely for me too. So I guess keeping myself busy is not such a bad thing after all.

Taxi Journey Story 1

When I took a taxi today, the driver told me, "it's getting difficult to earn a living driving taxi. I always see him sleep in KL Sentral. Can't do anything because we have to work very long hours to earn the money." The driver explain that for the past 3 years earning a living driving taxi is not like what it used to be. There are too many taxis on the street and no one take taxi (is this true? Why is it so difficult for me to take a taxi sometimes...)

The driver said, waiting at coupon operated stations, sometimes they need to wait for 4 hours in the queue to get a passenger and taxi drivers require a lot of trips and long hours to earn a day's living. Every day they have to pay RM50 to the company as rental fee. In average, only 10 days of the month they make money. The rest of the month is not enough money. As a result, they normally sleep in their taxi (nap is more like it).

The situation is worse for the new drivers because they don't have regular customers to send to airport or to places. They have to drive around the streets to look for customers. The driver also added that the premium taxi is their competitors because the blue premium taxi can pick up customers from the airport. (is this true or false)

Besides that, all the stickers enforced resently cost them a lot of money. Yup..it's out from their own pocket money...at least  that's what I was told by the driver (I forgot how much the driver told me coz I was sleepy...)

Conclusion: I've never seen a rich taxi driver before. Price haggling (getting out of control) at the KLCC taxi stand, one of world tallest building and famous tourist spot in Malaysia.

Multi-tasking can be a disaster

With the economic still unstable and recovering (this is what I keep hearing from the Government) most employees tries to multi-tasking. In fact, in a lot of organisation today, we are expected to multi-tasking so we can help the company to save money hiring another staff to do aspecific job.

We multi-task to show our boss how good we are at managing a few task at the same time or how effective we are at joggling our responsibilties. We mutli-task so show the bosses that we are valueable to the company and when it's time to down-size, we will be save because we can perform tasks completed by 3 employees.

The truth...multi-tasking is disaster waiting to happen. Why, because you need to manage a few tasks with 100% concentration and expectation. It's quite impossible to be detail and organise. Somehow you will miss out something or the task would not be satisfactory. You won't be able to focus your fullest attention and with the fast pace technologies and changes, it's impossible to be perfect at your work if you have to multi-task.

Bear in mind most of us who multi-task don't have an easy job. We are doing finance one minute, answering calls the next minute as a receptionist role and a HR manager preparing offer letter and follow up on staff details. Then is off to the bank or follow up with your IT department on the latest product development. People are amaze with this type of people but the truth is sooner or later they will make mistake. Sometimes huge mistake that will cost company more time and money which we can't afford at the current economic situation.

Multi-tasking also mean less time for yourselve and your family. Less time to rest your mind and body and having to work until wee hours trying to clear the backlogs. If you're being paid 6 figures, maybe it's worth it but most of us here are under-paid. This usually happens in Asian countries. People are willing to accept less. When will we change?

Hang in there...feeling down doesn't solve it

Things don't turn out as we expected. Fell relationship. Friendship fallout. Unsuccessful business venture. No pay raise. Business failure. Breakup. Pain.

All of us experience it or know someone close to us or someone we know experience it. This is part of life and although it's painful and sad and dissappointed for the one who experience it, it's OK to feel down and sollow for a while...maybe a few days but somehow we must be strong and confident to get up, and move on. Think positive, be positive. I know it's easier to say than done but you got to try. I been there. It's dark and creepy and extremely difficult to pull myself out. But I told myself I have to. The worst enermy is myself and I will destroy myself if I don't pull myself together. In fact, if I fail, the one who put me there will win. Why should I let this? So I fight back. I get up. So should you. You should get up. Everyone experience failure. Everyone has there ups and downs. No one is perfect so don't be so hard on yourself. You can do it. say it and mean it.

Hot Weather and Air Condition

For the past month since the Chinese New Year and came and gone, followed by 'Cheng Meng' or All soul day passed, the weather is just unpredictable. When it's hot, it's really, really scotching hot and I bet a lot of us having problem thaving a nice sleeping night witht he humid heat.  Well, for those of us who don't have the luxury of an air condition in our living room or in our bedroom.

Air condition is one of the greatest invention. Don't you think so? It keep us cooling in this humid and hot weather and for those in the four season countries, it keeps them warm during winter. With all the technology, it seem air condition seem to act as air filter in our home. I don't know how effective it is now but I think it will improve with time.

Just recently, when I update my facebook about aircon, my friend posted higher horse power air con will bring more harm to our ozon layer. I have to admit it's true. Although most of us can't live without air condition but somehow I think we should do our part too. Use less air condition and use it when it's neccessary. With all the green campaign we see in hypermarket nowadays, a little contribution from all of us goes a long way. Use fan will be a better choice. Furthermore, it doesn't dry your skin as my sugar puts it.

13 Things Your Grocer Won't Tell You

1. If you hate crowds and lines, shop at dinnertime (7 to 9 p.m.) or even later. Only 4 percent of shoppers hit the aisles between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. Least-crowded day of the week? Monday.

2. Go ahead and reach way back for the fresh milk. Everybody does.

3. Coupons with a bar code are easy to scan. The other ones take an eternity. But if you're willing to wait …

4. That star fruit has been here a lot longer than the broccoli. Familiar produce turns over more quickly than exotic things.

5. "The more products you see, the more you are likely to buy," says Marion Nestle, author of What to Eat. "That's why the aisles are so long and the milk is usually in the far corner."

6. Like employees with a good attitude? Shop at chains that are employee-owned, suggest customer-satisfaction surveys. When employees have a stake in the profits, it shows in their attitude.

7. The "grazers" order food at the deli, eat it as they're shopping, and get rid of the wrappers before they check out. We also call that stealing.

8. I'm not just selling groceries, I'm selling real estate. Look high and low-literally-for good values from smaller manufacturers who can't afford to stock their products in the eye-level sweet spot.

9. We're marketing to your kids too. That's why we put the rainbow-colored cereals and other kiddie catnip at their eye level.

10. Be wary of "specials." When people see signs with numbers-"Lowest price!" "Limit: 3 per customer"—they buy 30 to 100 percent more than they otherwise might have.

11. The baby formula is locked up because thieves resell it on the black market. Ditto for the cough and cold medications, smoking-cessation products, razor blades, and batteries.

12. Driving your Ferrari to Giant and want to avoid shopping-cart dents? Park far, far away.

13. You'll end up tossing 12 percent of what you buy.
